NO REGULAR MEETING ON March 20, 2012

Fred Williamson noticed the PSA sandpaper at Kirk's source Online Industrial Supply is on sale at $20 per 5" 100 count roll = $0.20/sheet.
If anyone is interested it is http://www.onlineindustrialsupply.com/psa-gold-paper-discs-5-inch.html

This stuff is about as good as the 3M gold I've been using that I've bought from TCP Global. By comparison the 3M Stikit Gold 220grit is $62 per 175 count roll, which comes out to $0.36 per sheet.

TCP Global does have a product they call DuraGold, at $25 per 100 roll.    http://www.tcpglobal.com/duragold/421.aspx

the 3M stickit gold in 500 grit may be found at http://www.autobodytoolmart.com/3m-stikit-5-gold-disc-rolls-p-11338.aspx

*A Second Life for the Jackson Prayer Tree - A tree that was present at the encampment of Confederate Gen. Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson’s army near Middle River in June 1862 has succumbed to disease and time. The towering white oak that was known locally as Jackson’s Prayer Tree toppled to the ground overnight May 27, said Donna Miller, daughter of the owner of the property in northern Augusta County where the tree was located.

Jackson's army had just completed a string of five military victories, including the battles of Cross Keys and Port Republic, in roughly a month that spring. According to the diary of Jackson's mapmaker, Jedediah Hotchkiss, the general attended a religious gathering on June 15 during the encampment. A local legend sprouted that Jackson attended the prayer meeting under the tree, leading to its moniker.
